Our Story

The Lamplit Parlour was born from a love for slow evenings, memorable hospitality and the enduring tradition of gathering around a table. Inspired by the Australian parlour dining rooms of earlier eras, our restaurant is made for those who linger over good food and great company, unhurried and fully present.

From the first sketches, we imagined an intimate dining parlour that would naturally flow into a refined card lounge and card room. Every detail – from the linen and timber to the way guests move between tables – has been considered to support conversations, shared dishes and the quiet anticipation of an evening around a physical poker table.

The Lamplit Parlour revives the tradition of the physical card-room: a place of camaraderie, offline poker and genuine interaction. Our card room is centred around real poker tables, comfortable chairs and carefully arranged lighting that keeps focus on the felt and the faces around it.

This is a live card room designed for conversation, gestures and the soft shuffle of cards. Table hosts oversee each poker table, helping guests feel at ease, answering questions and ensuring that the tone remains social, respectful and unhurried throughout the poker evening.

Offline Poker Experience

Here, poker is an immersive on-site experience. The Lamplit Parlour focuses on offline poker and live poker played around physical poker tables, with crisp playing cards, tactile poker chips and table hosts to guide the evening from the first deal to the final hand.

Our card lounge and card room remain intentionally screen-free so that attention stays on the table and the people seated around it. The rhythm of each poker night is set by conversation, body language and the feel of the cards, not by notifications or devices.

All poker activity at The Lamplit Parlour is hosted on-site within our restaurant, card lounge and card room. There is no online poker or remote play associated with the venue.

The Card Lounge

Beyond the main dining room, our card lounge invites guests to transition seamlessly from dinner into an evening of live poker or quiet conversation by lamp glow. Soft seating, brass accents and warm table lamps create a gentle bridge between shared plates and shared hands of cards.

Some guests use the card lounge as a relaxed space for a final drink and conversation, while others move onward to the dedicated card tables in the card room. In every case, the emphasis is on face-to-face connection and an evening that unfolds at a comfortable pace.
